Biography
After graduating from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, Dr. Nielson completed Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency training at the University of New Mexico. At UNM, her research endeavors included the use of digital imaging in pathology workflows and her clinical and academic efforts earned her the award for Resident of the Year in 2021. Dr. Nielson completed two fellowships at Mayo Clinic, including a Surgical Pathology fellowship, where she became proficient in frozen section pathology, as well as a Multidisciplinary Breast Pathology fellowship, during which she aided in revitalization of the radiology-pathology correlation conference and pursued ongoing research on the genetic and molecular profiles of rare tumors of the breast and kidney.
Dr. Nielson eagerly joins the pathology breast team and has always had a passion for developing strong clinical relationships with the knowledge that these relationships help to provide the highest quality care.

In her spare time, Dr. Nielson enjoys reading, running, and spending quality time with her partner and two Bengal cats, Ghost and Cheeto.
