End of Test Rationing: Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT / SGPT)
Effective February 16, 2024, Pacific Diagnostic Laboratories (PDL) will be returning to regular testing for ALANINE AMINOTRANSFERASE (ALT / SGPT).
BACKGROUND
- Our test vendor experienced a nation-wide shortage of ALT test reagent.
- To manage the test reagent we had on hand, we had to ration ALT testing.
- We are pleased to report that we have enough reagent to resume normal testing for ALT.
IMPACTED TESTS
Beginning February 16, 2024, PDL will RESUME providing the ALT test result for the following orderable codes:
- COMPREHENSIVE METABOLIC PANEL (CMP) LAB17
- EXPANDED COMPREHENSIVE METABOLIC PANEL LAB9403
Please note that there may be a short transition period for some test orders as we make the changes in our system.
Thank you for your support and collaboration through this supply shortage. PDL appreciates your continued business,
and we apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused.
